Abstract: The discourse of the world changed after 9/11 attacks on the USA on Sep, 2001. This was not only the turning point for the USA but for the whole world mostly for the Muslims countries in which Afghanistan and Pakistan are mostly highlighted. The USA wants to start the war against terror in the world, so, War on Terror ideology gain grounds in the whole world. Moreover, War on Terror started in Afghanistan and also in Pakistan mostly in Pakhtoon‟s area. This war affects the whole life system of the Pakhtoon‟s community. Pashto language and literature are highly affected by War on Terror because language is like a mirror which reflects the ideology of the society. The study of Post-9/11 Pashto poetry is very important in order to find the usage of language in a society and how it functioning in a specific context. For this purpose, the current research is conducted. This research elaborates the in-depth analysis of the selected poets‟ poetry (Darwesh Durani, Ali Akbar Sial and Sabir Ali) related to war discourse. This research analyzes the macro and micro structure, impact of war on literature, and Pashto poetry ideology after 9/11 attacks when the USA started War on Terror. Van Dijk‟s Socio-cognitive Approach of Critical Discourse Analysis is applied to the current research which explains the underline factors and ideologies of the selected text. Furthermore, the research shows that why poets being the most influential people of the society to explain the ideologies of the context.
