Abstract: The US policy of De-hyphenation, that is to deal with India and Pakistan on their merits and de-merits, without factoring to their bilateral relations, has significantly increased Pakistan’s Security Dilemma vis-à-vis India in its own perceptions. This increased insecurity perception in the views of Pakistan, because of Indo-US strategic partnership under De-hyphenation, has significantly compromised the security and safety of the region. This research aims to study the de-hyphenation policy of the US, to explore how has it affected the security dilemma of Pakistan vis-à-vis India, to what extent this policy has been operationalised and how has Pakistan responded to this new policy? Moreover, the nature of research is qualitative, based on descriptive and analytical methods to explain and answer the abovementioned research questions. It is primarily a desk research using the primary and secondary data, collected through archives, libraries, search engines and other internet sources. India under De-hyphenation came very close to US whereas, Pakistan was pushed behind the doors of do more mantra. Because of this De-hyphenation induced imbalance of power, Pakistan also started close cooperation with China and Russia to address the altered balance of power equation in the region.
