Abstract: In survey sampling, it is usual to have available supplementary information which can be used at the designing as well as at the estimation stage in order to increase the precision of estimates by taking the advantage of cOlTelation between the study variable and the auxiliary variable. In this study, we have proposed a family of ratio estimators in nested stratified sampling using information on two auxiliary variables and . attributes. Compromise allocation is also used in nested stratified sampling. New family of ratio estimators is proposed in stratified and nested stratified sampling. We have introduced several family and other new ratio estimators in ranked set sampling tec1miques. Three new ranked set sampling designs are introduced and investigated the role of ratio estimation problem. Both real and simulated data sets are used to observe the performances of the considered estimators.
