Abstract: | analyze the knowledge, attitude and practices of the people of ChUral about climate change. To recognize the knowledge, attitude and practices of people about climate change the research was conducted in lower ChUra!. The random sampling method was used to collect data from 300 respondents. Consequently, structured questionnaire was used as a tool which was more pertinent for quantitative data collection and analysis. Consequentially, deforestation is the main cause of climate change in ChUral as indicated. Notwithstanding, other main reasons of climate change have been deliberated in "Risk Society Theory. " Still and all, the researcher found that most of the chitrali people were aware of the climate change and they felt worse changes in the environment. Likewise, people argued that global warming is the most important issue they were facing. Nevertheless, in consonance with the practices of the people they were actively participating in pro-environmental activities as most of the respondents argued that they intimidated those who were harming nature. Additionally, the respondent shown a positive attitude towards climate change for instance, people of Chitral believe that people can find ways to resolve the environmental problems. Finally yet importantly, according to the overall results the people of Chitral were dissatisfied with government measures taken, and were also with the opinion that because of climate change the risk of flood has increased in ChUral, while, due to climate change glaciers slipped been increased in recent years. |
