Abstract: | The research aimed to investigate the role of motivational speaker in the academic motivation of the university students. For this, the researcher surveyed the students of Quaid-i-Azam University. The researcher studied the academic motivation by considering the Self Determination theory which proposed more three dimensions of motivation that is extrinsic motivation, intrinsic motivation and amotivation. The researcher also considered subdimensions of these factors. In the present study qualitative research approach was employed as methodology. The sample size of 135 is selected for the research. The results exposed that extrinsic motivation play major role in academic motivation among the students of Quaid-i-Azam University. It is highlighted that extrinsic and intrinsic motivation correspond with one and other and play an important role in academic motivation among the students of Quaid-i-Azam University. Amotivation indicated that it is the confusing state of mind when students have no motivation. The major findings showed that there are distinct motivational factors adopting by university students in the academic motivation. Motivational speakers are coming later on in the list of other motivational factors |
