Abstract: The research examines the Impact of Internal Migration on the Socio-economic Development of Chitrali Migrants in Islamabad, Pakistan. Chitral is situated in the Northern Areas of Pakistan, where people are attached to agricultural and related activities such as livestock, farming's etc. Due to the hard weather season, and less productivity, people livelihood is affected, and their survival is very difficult during the winter seasons. So, that is why most of the people are settled in the big cities of Pakistan, like Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi and Peshawar etc. Many people migrated to Islamabad for job, education, health and with their family members who were settled in Islamabad. The data were collected from one hundred and twenty (120) respondents in Islamabad, who were migrated from Chitra!. The interviews were done with the head of the household through a closed-ended questionnaire face to face. The quantitative research approach was adopted, and questionnaires were the research tool to collect data from the field. The data was analysis through the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPPS), and the level of confidence was 0.05. The Findings of the research showed that majority of the respondents (head of household) were male and they have migrated due to the education purposes and economic issues. The majority of immigrants were doing jobs and their children were studying in quality educational institutions. During the interview, it revealed that majority of respondents were happy of migration and their economic conditions were improved and they were motivated their other family members, relative and friends to migrate toward the cities like Islamabad and Karachi. The theory of human capital was chosen, which stated that the internal migration has changed the Chitrali migrant's life, they have enhanced their skills and income, so their overall socio-economic condition is improved. On the other hand, they have still good relation to their hometown as well as the Chitrali migrants in Islamabad. The results of the chi-square also founded that there is a relationship between the internal migration and socio-economic condition. Two nominal questions were tested in SPSS and the Pearson Chi-Square was significance in both cases.
