Abstract: The research examines, the influence of student's academic performance on their career development at Quaid-i-Azam university, Islamabad. Many studies have shown that students performance either academic or non-academic influence the career expectation at the university level, E.g. those students who have research interest and good relation with their supervisor are motivated towards continuing their higher education/ studies and chose the academia as the best career opportunity. The theory of career development was applied which stated that career decision is a dynamic process and its change from time to time and depending on different factors, such as, English language proficiency, research skills, and good communication abilities, etc. The quantitative research approach was used, and the universe was QA U, Islamabad. The sample size was limited to one hundred andfifiy-three (153) and the purposive sampling techniques were chosen. The data collection tools were the closed-ended structured questionnaire and analyzed the data in the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21. The descriptive and iriferential statistics were the data analysis techniques and present data in the tables. The findings of the research were showed that the majority of respondents were female and living in the university hostel. Majority of respondents were performing the subject matter activities and knew about the future prospects of their subjects and the job market. Respondents also knew the working environment of their subject and the majority of them were very satisfied with their research supervisor and have done thesis work. Moreover, the majority of respondents want to continue their higher studies and want to work outside the country. The iriferential statistical results also showed that those respondents who understand the English language were satisfied with their research supervisor, and also satisfied with their subject matters. Those respondents who were satisfied with their supervisor also have internship opportunities. Similarly, Subject matter satisfaction have also a relationship with the continuation of higher studies
