Abstract: The research study examines The State of Children in Orphanages and Care Centers in GilgitBaltistan (GB). The numbers of children care centers and orphanages are increase day by day. There are many causes of children enrollment in care centers and orphanages, such as parental death, lack of educational opportunities, poverty, and natural disaster, etc. The present research was a quantitative study, where the universe was Gilgit city and the main target was the children care centers and orphanages. The target population was the children who were resided in these centers. The structured closed-ended questionnaire was developed for data collection. The total sample of this research was one hundred and ninety-nine (199) respondents and the purposive sampling technique was used for sampling. The collected data was analyzed in the Statistical Package for Social sciences (SPSS). Theory of Maslow's need heracarecy was applied which stated that children have different needs and erase according to age. Both inferential statistics and descriptive were applied to explain the results. The themes were analyzed in means and then applied correlation test. Findings of this research study showed that majority of the children were enrolled in children care centers and orphanages are due to parental deaths, access to education, poverty, and natural disasters. The majority of children was enjoying their life, has access to better educational institutions and was aware of the negative consequences of the punishment. Moreover, the meals were good and timely available, setting arrangements were according to their own needs. Also, have internet access and children have their future plans. The majority of male students were to become part of the arm forces. The majority of the children have also stated that care center and orphanages are their own houses and they were enjoying their life.
