Abstract: | This is a qualitative narrative research which was intended to unravel, discern and decode the stories of the Christian female residents of France Colony. Their story telling was built onto the researcher’s feminist lens and was appraised with a gendered and historical analysis. The nature of the research itself was to piece together these stories and see what they translate into for the politico-economic interests of these women, if at all. There was a grand total of 16 interviews, conducted within 2 sessions. 1 key informant was appointed and the approximate duration of each interview was 45 minutes long. The interviews were taken with the help of an indepth interview guide. An additional interview was conducted as a more convenient supplement to a focus group discussion. The researcher conjectured that these women had resigned themselves to their fate as a persecuted urbanized minority for personal reasons. After a close evaluation of the data and findings, the hypothesis was ultimately approved. A list of suggestions have also been appended to the conclusion. |
