Abstract: | The paper focusses on strong Indian lobby in the United States being carried out by Indian American activists. It discusses evolution and organizational structure of the Indian lobby by taking multiple aspects into account. It reveals that Indian Americans have strong socio-economic profile which makes them strategic asset for the United States. They have a strong presence on Capitol Hill to secure Indian national interest and this organized lobby is fully supported by the Indian government. Furthermore, a deep insight is provided in global strategic environment which is responsible for burgeoning India-US bilateral ties and the active Indian lobby is acting as a catalyst in this regard. This lobby becomes a matter of concern for Pakistan provided that the interest of both states clashes at times, being the arch-rival states. Thus, it has direct as well as indirect implications for Pakistan. The paper suggests the guidelines for Pakistan’s policy planners so that they may formulate a policy keeping in view the whole picture in true meanings. |
