Abstract: | Children become orphan when they lose their parents. Orphaned child experiences both emotional as well as psychological distress due to the death of his parents. The intention of the researcher in conducting this research was to find out the quality life of orphan children in orphanage. Major focus was to highlight that how environment of orphanage leads the child in isolation and how the child’s upbringing patterns are influenced by the orphanage environment. The researcher measured the causes of being an orphan which were loss of parents and the death of parents, presence of war and natural disaster. Bowlby’s theory of attachment, psychosocial theory and ecological theory provides a framework for describing the inadequate child caregiving and environment of orphan home can influence the development as well as the behaviour of orphan. Qualitative research method used in current study and research instrument for data collection was interview guide. A sample was drawn from orphan homes Islamabad, through purposive sampling. The interviews were analysed through coding method then merged related codes with each other and formed themes by the selective coding to analyse the data. Result of the study showed that children in orphan home are facing difficulties in orphanage they feel loneliness, socially depressed and missing their family environment. They face lack of support of a person or caregiver with whom they spend time and share their problems. So, majority of the respondents were not satisfied with the environment of orphanage. Thus, the researcher can conclude that environment of orphan centre is integrating in the child’s sense of isolation or environment of orphanage lead child isolated. Orphan homes are not providing proper facilities to orphan. Their caregiver aggressive behavior in orphan home is influential for child upbringings |
