Abstract: Suicide has remained as the foremost problem in district Chitral for many years and the people of the district are still considering it as a significant challenge. This research has been performed in order to find out the socio- psychological determinants of suicide. The ratio of suicidal cases in the district is on its peak and has been an alarming issue in the area. Present research has utilized purposive sampling in order to collect data regarding the selected topic. The researcher has conducted in-depth interviews from the family members of 10 effected families and 5 from other individuals of the society who are well aware of the issue. After conducting in-depth interviews from the respondents the following socio psychological determinants were found as the main suicide causing agents. The determinants are as follow; academic pressure, domestic issues, financial issues, love marriage, loneliness, hopelessness, use of drugs and alcohol, depression and mental illness. The people of the area are very worry about the serious issue and are expecting from the govt and different NGOS to take bold steps in order to minimize the issue. The people are saying that if this trend will continue in future then the coming generation will face a lot of problems from the bad disease. It will create a lot of problems in the area and the people will be unable to spare a prosperous life.
