Abstract: The department of Earth science provided the migrated seismic section of sanghaI" area. This is the migrated processed 60 fold seismic section of line =944-SGR-231. its Orientation extends from W-E direction. The data acquisition and as well processing was done by OGDCL. Average velocities were also provided with the seismic section with total CDP's (common depth point) from 101-850. For the interpretation of seismic data 5 reflectors Rl R2, R3, R4 and R5 have been marked and named on the basis of generalized stratigraphy sequence present in the area. Faults were also marked to examine the subsurface structure. Due to the extensional regime horst and graben geometries are present in the area favorable for the accumulation of hydrocarbons. The subsurface picture of the area shows the smooth trend and dipping gently fI·om west to east direction, thinning of strata is going to tal{e place. Time and Depth contour maps are also prepared at a particular level to analyze the variations on the basis of time and depth. Velocity contouring was also done to determine the variations of velocity. Variograms were also prepared at a particular level to show the variations of time and depth.
