Abstract: | A post Stack Migrated Seismic Section NP 86- 03, provided to me by the Department of Earth Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad were interpreted in the present work. The line that provided me is Dip line. The section comprised of total shot points from SP-200 to SP-42S. The root mean square velocities at different times were given on the section. Four prominent reflectors are marked on the seismic sections on the basis of observed reflection events. The marked horizons show deformation in the area caused by compressional tectonics. Thrust faults and Normal faults are marked in my section. A time section is produced from the seismic section using the Shot Points and the two-way-times (TWT) of the reflectors and faults. These averaOge velocities are then used to find the depths of the formations for the Geoseismic Section or Depth Section. Contouring of the Chorgali Formation have done. The variation in the reflection coefficient's value indicated the presence of limestone, sandstone and shale in the subsurface. |
