Abstract: | A seismic Migrated section 2000-KH04 area, provided by Earth Sciences department of Quaid-i-Azam university Islamabad is interpreted in the present work. The tine that is provided is a dip line. Data was acquisited by ORIENT PETROLEUM INC and processed with the SeisUP system by the SPECTRUM ENERGY AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INC. This line is aquired with the help of 965 shot points which ranges from 101 to 1065. Datum being 0.0 Six reflectors were marked on given seismic section named as RF1, RF2, RF3, RF4, RF5 and RF6.After correlation with the stratigraphiC column in Naimat Basal-l they were named as Kirther, Khadro, Top Lower Goru, Sand Above Talhar Shale and Chiltan respectively. The well summary sheet of the nearest well Naimat Basal-1 was also obtained. In order to correlate our seismic data with the subsurface lithology. Iso-velocity map is prepared by taking average velocities. This map shows strong variation or bulges which shows that these variations are due to some structure pr ent. Time section is prepared by using two way arrival time from seismic section. This time section shows sudden variation in the arrival time and from the help of these variations, we marked ten faults. Using these arrival times and average velocities, depth of each reflector has been calculated and is represented in depth section. Faults were also marked to examine the subsurface structure, ten faults are marked on my seismic section. All of them are normal faults showing extensional regime of the area. Rock properties of Chiltan formation are calculated in order to justify the reservoir character. Values of stress calculations of Chiltan formation lies in to the specitic range wich is necessary for a rock to have reservoir character. Well data of Naimat Basal-l and Siraj South-l was obtained from Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions, Government of Pakistan (DGPC) in order to correlate the different formations encountered in my seismic section. Well data is used to determine in which direction the rock thickens and in which direction the rock contracts in order to get the idea of exploration sites. It also helps in determining the basin slope. In the correlation Khadro formation is the stratigraphic datum. Slope of the basin is towards south. Kirther formation thickens towards north whereas the Gom formation which is a good reservoir rock thickens towards south. This is giving us the idea that exploration sites are more suitable towards south. |
