Abstract: | This dissertation is based on the seismic section of the line # CNW 87-A2 provided by the Department of Earth Sciences, QAU Islamabad. The seismic reflection survey was carried out by " VERITAS SEISMIC" in the DADU Province Pakistan. A 60 fold data was acquired along a 7.5 km long. Oil and Gas Development Corporation ( OGDC) provided the migrated seismic section along with RMS, DIX Interval and DIX average velocity are also provided for different shot points. Using the Dix average velocities, time and shot point distance a DIX average contour map is constructed. This line contains a total of 150 shot points numbered as SP# 150,160""""""",300. Three reflectors R1, R2, R3 are marked, due to their prominent reflection on the seismic section. The depth for each reflector is found by DIX average velocity and travel time. Two methods are used for the estimatation of velocities to construct two depth sections to represent the shape of reflectors. These methods are explained in the last chapter and the resulted depth sections are displayed in figures in the same chapter. Three faults are observed in the area. This shows that the area is highly deformed. Lateral as well as vertical variations in the velocities are observed in the DIX average velocity contour map and men average velocity contour map that may attribute to structural and physical variations in the subsurface material. |
