Abstract: | Augmented Reality Tour Guide application is an online mobile computing application that provides digital information to the user based on the user's geographical location. Augmented Reality means adding elements to the reality you see through the camera of your dev ice. Augmented Reality is very suitable for location-based services. It is possible to insert information about the surroundings into the camera image based on the user's position. Our proposed system is a standalone application. In the application if there is any location in terms of LLA (latitude, longitude, altitude), we \\fill be able to place any digital information using Augmented Reality technology. Latitude and longitude points are used to place the digital infonnation and altitude is used (in the equation) to make that point proportional to mobile screen. Location based applications integrate geographic location (digital) intormation and the details of the surrounding. By geographical location information, we mean that using GPS of the phone we will get information already placed on latitudes and longitudes. This type of application creates an invaluable experience tor the user. • • The system adds digital directions for place that could be searched within the reality space presented within the camera. Individuals can mark spots. hose spots are tagged along with the digital information . The tour taker will be prompted with detail when the mobile is reached in the certain spot radius. We are llsing Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad as the case study for this project. In this application as we are tagging variolls spots available inside QAU, we are aiming that people add more spots in their respective peripheries for others to help them find out places. Further improvement of Augmented Reality Tour Guide would provide more interactive services to users and help in creating a huge database of location tagged information. The Augmented Reality Tour Guide application will create a large impact and will especially be very helpful in the field of tourism and navigation. With the development of such applications, the ultimate goal of Augmented Reality may not be far away. Therefore, the main objective of this project is to create a framework of Augmented Reality 'four Guide. |
