SYNTHESIS AND CHEMISTRY OF HYDRAZINO ACIDS

Abstract

Of all the theories put forth to explain the ~ - amino acids oxidation, no one accounts for the exper i mental data exactly . Keeping in mind the special nature and characteristic properties of the hydrazo acids, evident from their proposed structure, these were fore sought as possible unstable intermediates in the chemical oxidation of ~ - amino acids. Before reviewing the synthesis and chemistry of ~ - hydrazo and ~ - hydrazino acids, a short review of ~ -amino acids oxidation is in order .
