Synthesis and Characterization of Some New Thiazolo[3,2 -b j [1,2,4]triazoles

Abstract

A new series of thiazolo[3,2 -b][l,2,4]triazoles was synthesized by intramolecular dehydrative cyclization of aryl-2-(4H-l,2,4-triazol-3- ylthio )ethanones by refluxing them in phosphorus oxychloride. The ethanones were prepared from 5-substituted l,2,4-triazole-3-thiols and phenacylbromides by a nucleophilic substitution bimolecular reaction. The structures of newly synthesized thiazolo[3,2-b][l,2,4]triazoles were characterized by IR, 1" NMR and 13C NMR.
