Abstract: This main focus of this study is to analyze the influence of Pakistani Urdu television dramas on the marital relationship of Pashtun women within the village of Mardan in Mian Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This study focused on the responses of married Pashtun women between 18-35 age groups. The study reflected on the respondent’s engagement with dramas on daily basis, amidst their domestic duties and other commitments. In doing so this study differentiates between the experiences of women from nuclear and joint family. The findings of this study revealed that women are significantly influenced by dramas. As they often relate themselves with the female characters which leads to the imitation of roles, situations and lifestyles depicted in the dramas of Urdu television. However, impacts and influences cannot be determined as they vary from one person to person. The research study does this by highlighting different viewpoints of respondents about the effects those Urdu television dramas on their married lives and perceptions.
