ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS ON QUAID-I-AZAM UNIVERSITY CAMPUS (EASTERN SIDE) Traces of Human Ancestors During Palaeolithic Period (Old Stone-Age)

Abstract

This research is aimed to explore the Pre-historic sites within the Quaid-i-Azam University. This region has a unique geological location which has been ideal habitat since the inception of human society. In Soan valley, many of the Pre-historic sites have been discovered and detailed work had been conducting since the early mid of the 20th century. But many of the sites are still left undiscovered. Many of the scholars have tried to explain it well but still there are many hidden mysteries within this field. This was to find the prehistoric site, to explore in detail and to analyze the samples collection to arrange them in their relevant category. Furthermore, the study also explored the possibility of any new tool technologies in the use of tools already discovered from there or similar sites. The detailed surveys were conducted to analyze the location properly under the supervision of the experts. These Palaeolithic artifacts with a few of late Palaeolithic were comparatively analyzed with the already available data. One terrace which is expected as the stone tool factory but the further confirm proper excavation is needed. Five other prehistoric sites had been discovered along with the some of the historic site as the ancient well of the 16th century and the graves.
