Abstract: Re ection from and transmission through uniaxial lossy slab have been investigated in this thesis. The direction of optic axis is supposed to be arbitrary. It is assumed that the slab is made of electric-magnetic uniaxial medium. Analytical expressions for re ection and transmission coe cients are obtained by imposing the boundary condition at the interfaces of the slab. Numerical results are presented by assuming the matched as well as unmatched layer w.r.t the impedance of the rst medium. By varying the slab thickness transmission and re ection properties have been investigated. Moreover, direction of optic axis has been change and it is analyzed that the location of dip in the behaviour of re ection coe cient changes as a function of direction of optic axis.
