Abstract: | Pervez Musharraf’s government contributed positively and progressively towards the legislation for women empowerment. 1999 to 2008 phase initiated a new era which destroyed the old barriers and set a base for women empowerment. Which became the building block for further legislation about biased-free gender-equal society. Due to the encouragement and policies by the government, Pakistan saw both positive and negative effects as a reaction, to the role and behavior of women. Positively in the shape of lawyer’s movement, although movement was against the government itself and negative in the form of militant feminism during Red mosque crises |
