Abstract: | The study attempts to discern the leadership style practiced by women leaders and its impact on the psychological wellbeing of the employees of higher educational institutions of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Women are primarily not being recognized and prepared for leadership role, that’s why they do not aspire their subordinates for rule. The objective of research is to analyze the linkage among women , their leadership style and it’s psychlogical impact on the employees of higher educational institutions. The data for the research has been attained from 148 respondents of government/ semi government/ Public sector universities using convenient sampling method. Six institutions were selected as the locale of the research from cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Quantitativeand predictive research design has been used for this research. A protocol of three standardized questionnaire was developed keeping the research hypothesis in mind. Three scales Leadership Assessment Inventory (LPI) Job Satisfaction Scale (JSS) and Ryff Psychlogical Well-being Scale (PWB) were used to get the in-depth information from respondents. The standardized scale with significant reliability and validity were used in this study. . The data attained was computed by SPSS version 23 for hypothesis testing. Results of the study extracted using regression analysis for impact, t - test for comparison and correlation used for testing the relationship of variables. In terms of prevalence, statistics revealed that women leadership style have the significant impact on employee’s psychlogical wellbeing. There was moderate impact found between the leadership style practice impacting on the job satisfaction (β=-.67, P< .001) of the employee’s. The correlation between job satisfaction and psychological wellbeing in employees resulting in a positive mid-level relationship (r: .41, p = .000). The regression model suggested is the positive predictor of the LPI with relation to the psychlogical wellbeing of the employee (on P< .01). Overall, the findings suggest that there is a modrate relationship between women leadership style and psychlogical wellbeing, and gender of a leaderinfluences subordinate views of leadership effectiveness.
