Abstract: | The widely spread pandemic has changed the world globally. It has pushed the world to change the existing ways of living and adopt to new ones. The whole world got confined to their homes to stop it’s spread. Businesses came up with the work from home policy. In this modern competitive era characterized by sheer competition this new setting put a lot to ponder for the human resource management. The quest to meet the productivity objectives has been more intensified. That purposely brought many other elements in light. In accordance with the Pakistani context this study has empirically argued and tested that what impact work from home will have on employee productivity and happiness, with the moderating role of management support and mediating role of work life balance. Telecom sector of Pakistan has been targeted for this purpose. Cross-sectional study has been carried out and data has been gathered by using survey method. A sample size of 350 questionnaires has been used. The findings of this study suggests that work from home has a positive and significant relation with work life balance. It has a significant effect on employee productivity and employee happiness. Management support significantly impact the association between work from home and work life balance. Work life balance positively mediates the relationship between work from home and employee productivity and happiness. At the end of this research, it has been suggested that human resource management of telecom companies should consider their workforce as a top priority and should introduce and implement policies that boosts their work life balance which eventually will increase their productivity and happiness while working from a new setting in times of uncertainty. |
