Abstract: | All organizations want its’ employees to perform well. Individual performance plays a key role in achieving the organizational objectives. The key focus of this research was to investigate the relationship of work from home and emotional exhaustion with performance of university teachers while working from home. Further to that the study indented to see how self-efficacy and perceived family support play pivotal role in enhancing the performance of university teacher while working remotely. The study followed a quantitative research approach. Accordingly, Survey data of 303 university teachers was analyzed using SPSS version 25. The results of analysis showed that work from home has a significant positive impact on performance whereas the emotional exhaustion has a significant negative impact on performance of university teachers. The self-efficacy mediates the relationship between work from home and performance. Similarly, the relationship between emotional exhaustion and performance is also mediated through self-efficacy. The moderation analysis shows that for teachers receiving higher level of perceived family support; the negative effect of emotional exhaustion on performance will be reduced consequently showing better performance as compared to the teachers receiving lower level of perceived family support. Theoretical contributions of the study and implications for practitioners and policy makers are given at the end, making humble contributions in the body of existing knowledge in domain of performance of employees particularly for university teachers while working from home. The study concludes by mentioning certain research limitations and giving future research directions.
