An additional goal of the study is to investigate the status of social recognition of women in Chitral. It revolves around the argument that in the area of Chitral, women have limited choices to pursue careers and professions because only certain fields are considered culturally and religiously acceptable. Women‘s socio-economic and political status is challenged by the rigid socio-cultural norms of the region. Societal norms have finalized certain types of fields‘ appropriation for them. Qualitative in-depth Interviews of twenty women participants were conducted belonging to diverse educational and occupational backgrounds. The selection process was done by using the purposive and snowball sampling methods.
