2D-INTEGRATED SEISMIC INTERPRETATION, ATTRIBUTE ANALYSIS, PETROPHYSICAL ANALYSIS AND ROCK PHYSICS ANALYSIS OF KHIPRO AREA, THAR PLATFORM PAKISTAN.

Abstract

General geology and geologica l history of an area is very important for exploration of hydrocarbons. A geological history of basi n can be compiled by considering basin forming tectonics and depositional sequence (Kazmi and Jan, 1997). Geology of the area is quite import'ant fo r the interpretation orthe seismic data, without having precise informati on about tlte geology of the area we arc unable to pick the different horizons in the seismic data. For structural ana lysis (faulting and folding) in the area is determined by the tectonic history of the area. The area of study is located in lower Indus basin extended approx imately between latitude 24" (0 2S"N and 66" 10 68°E (eastern boundary of Pakistan).
