Abstract: The main purpose of this thesis is to highlight the important aspects of quadrilateral alliance and describe territorial issues related to Indo Pacific region which will create implications for china. The grouping of these major countries will also influence other rival countries to exert regional influence and hegemony. The inclusion of India and japan in Quad will compel china and Pakistan to seek substitute to match this informal alliance. This also highlights threat perception in Indo-Pacific region which includes importance of trade routes for major economies. The interests of major countries will overlap and create competition for one another. System and Structure influences countries to align with major powers to fulfill national interests to balance the international securities. Members of quadrilateral alliance believe in the free and open Indo pacific and rules based maritime order in world. They set framework to establish rules based order to create peaceful environment. The naval exercises among member countries create deterrence in Oceans against the assertive and aggressive power. The unity heralds the international norms and regulations which will encourage smooth transportation. The cooperation among regional countries can improve the defense and strategic conditions of the members. It can strengthen the stature of member countries to boost their trade by bilateral and multilateral agreements. It establishes security agreement to elevating the capacity and capability of regional countries by enhancing their individual defense prowess. These activities will enhance the individual capacity and raise the stature as well. They will learn from the experience and expertise of one another and raise the living standard of the people of member countries. They also strengthen geopolitical power of countries by giving them peaceful and free environment. Countries compete in v global world to fulfill their individual interests and seek opportunities for the people of their countries. They make alliances and do agreements to empower different fields. They boost their trade and elevate the economy. They strengthen their defense to safeguards the territorial boundaries of the country and create influence in the region. Every nation tries to secure their survival and then focuses on the economy. In the history, nationalism and mercantilism compelled countries to fight with one another. But at the same time, Quad (Quadrilateral) alliance will encourage competition in Indo Pacific and compel other countries to acquire sophisticated technologies and deadly weapons. Quad Countries have active bilateral and trilateral cooperation and coordination on security issues. Member countries have had military alliances and announced trilateral partnerships. Australia and India have collaboration in form of AUSINDEX exercises to combat regional and global security challenges. Japan participation in Australia U.S military exercises called Talisman Saber and Southern Jackaroo. Japan and India also participated in Pitch Black and JIMEX. These countries made three foundational security agreements. Member countries do have some differences with other regional countries and even India has some serious differences with china and Pakistan. To join Quad alignment by India is an incentive to exert her regional influence. Quad enables four countries to increase their own engagement with one another. It provides maritime security mechanism to secure free and open Indo Pacific which will counter assertive Chinese aggression and offer alternatives. They have done bilateral and multilateral agreements like Blue Dot Network, Asia Pacific Growth Corridor to counter Belt and Road initiative. They provide infrastructure by attracting public and private resources and prepare feasibility report before beginning the project. If projects get certification it means that projects will be viable and sustainable and environment friendly. Security is the vi top most priority of any country to safeguard herself from external threats. Alliances create security threat for rival countries to balance these alliances for its security and survival. The inclusion of India and japan along with super power united states will create challenges for china. This study will answer the question of security and threat perception regarding alliances and arms race and will try to calculate the dynamics of the regional and global alliances and their influences
