Abstract: | The current study deals with the historiography of the Transgender in United States. Here, a complete historical analysis is carried out, within the contexts of cultural, social, political, diplomatic, economic and social histories in order to evaluate how Transgender evolved from oppression, cruelty, ignorance, humiliation and abuse to fully recognized members of America. The study further focuses on the zeal and resilience of Transgender in coping the odds and emerging as strong warriors. Gender deviants have multiple classes, including an unberalla term LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) phenomenon. Particularly, Transgender category is attempted to be foregrounded here. The study has utilized qualitative methodology to interpret the transgender existential crisis resulted from close textual analysis of existing literature. It is questioned in the study that how transgender emerged out from scratch and let the world know their existence. A number of factors like riots, frisky activism, self-recognition, media and law amalgamate together to flourish their identity. Despite backlash, hate and unjust behaviors, they sustained the impediments and rose rebelliously. However, things are still not so smooth, but history has reflected some true occurrences of bouncebackability and vigor. |
