Abstract: | Malnutrition means insufficient food to eat and malnutrition is a serious health problem and it is continuing high rate in developing countries. We can also say that malnutrition is one of the biggest health burden for the developing nations. There are many causes of malnutrition which relate to poor diet, food insecurity, lack of safe water, natural droughts, poor access to health facilities but in research study area poverty is main cause of malnutrition, where poor people have no purchasing capacity of adequate food due to low income people does not fulfills basic food needs for their family. Malnutrition affects negatively for children in the result of spread many diseases in children not only children but women also victims of malnutrition. To find out the relationship between poverty and malnutrition researcher apply “Relative Deprivation” theory as a framework. The researcher selected Tehsil Diplo in District Tharparkar to study about the impact of poverty on malnutrition. In the current research study, researcher used quantitative method, interview schedule and the sample size of the study was 200 respondents through close ended questionnaire. This study found that poverty and wadera system both main cause of malnutrition, which leads to people in deprived. The researcher was test hypothesis by using statically package for social science and the result of hypothesis testing showed that there is strong relationship between poverty and malnutrition. |
