Abstract: | The purpose of this study was to examine the importance of organizational development interventions for good governance in the public sector organizations of Pakistan with the mediation of organizational culture and moderation effect of government support. The OD & Good Governance model was established on the basis of extensive review of the existing literature. The instrument of OD and good governance was contextualized in the preview of public sector organization of Pakistan. Confirmatory factor analysis was assigned for the measurement of construct validity of the hypothesized OD & Good Governance model. Public sector organizations from federal and provincial capitals were contacted based on their direct role in the area of organizational development and good governance. The BS 18 and above civil/public servants of these organizations remained the unit of analysis and data was collected from 372 such officers through structured questionnaire accordingly. Confirmatory factor analysis, regression analysis, path analysis, PROCESS model 1 and 4 was employed for the purpose of statistical analysis and findings. The analytical result shows the organizational culture mediation effect between OD interventions and good governance. Furthermore, the results also show the moderation effect of government support between organizational culture and good governance. The analytical evidence of this research exercise presents strong justifications that the OD & Good Governance model can adequately be operationalized, measured, and applied for the desired analysis in public sector organizational contexts with the associated practical implications. As, in Pakistan, public sector organizational environment is highly politicized and also changing the existing mindset of the majority of the employees with the new management techniques has huge managerial implications in the implementations of OD interventions for good governance. To generalize the hypothesized theory, the creation and confirmation of a model pertaining to OD & Good Governance in the public sector Asian context is the important vi contributions to the literature on OD interventions and good governance.
