Abstract: This research work discusses the role of customization, users’ training and methodology on implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) with reference to context of developing countries, specifically in the government departments in the presence of moderating variable computer technology awareness. In recent times, many organizations around the world have opted this ERP system to have reliable / secured information which is shared throughout organization / departments in real time. In order to do so, ERP system has now been introduced widely around the world including developed as well as developing countries. However, the countries that are still in the developing phase usually lack the computer technology awareness up to the required level of sophistication for successful implementation of ERP. Furthermore, the complications faced by the government organizations multiply many folds due to lack of attitude towards acceptance of change. The research is an attempt to understand the problems faced during the implementations of ERP in organizations that have been using conventional modes of communications for decades. Extensive literature review has been carried out to find out the role of the three primary variables in the presence of moderator in the phase of this paradigm shifting.
