Abstract: | This thesis explores the knowledge and awareness of reproductive health among university students, focusing on the case study of Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad, Pakistan. Reproductive health education plays a vital role in empowering young adults to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive well-being. However, limited research within the specific context of Pakistan's university settings hinders our understanding of the awareness levels and their implications. This study aims to bridge this gap by investigating the reproductive health awareness among Quaid-i-Azam University students and examining the factors influencing their knowledge. Using a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and interviews, the research collects data from a diverse student population. The findings reveal varying levels of reproductive health awareness among participants, highlighting gaps in understanding and misconceptions. The study also examines the influence of digital resources, peer interactions, family dynamics, and formal education on students' reproductive health knowledge. By situating Quaid-i-Azam University as a microcosm of Pakistan's diverse landscape, this study sheds light on the role of educational institutions in shaping young adults' perceptions and behaviors related to reproductive health. The results emphasize the urgency of tailored reproductive health education programs that address the specific needs and knowledge gaps of university students. This research contributes valuable insights into the state of reproductive health awareness among university students in Pakistan. The findings have implications for curriculum development, policy advocacy, and interventions aimed at enhancing reproductive health education. By equipping young adults with accurate and comprehensive knowledge, we can empower them to make responsible decisions about their reproductive health, contributing to improved well-being and societal outcomes. |
