dc.description.abstractThe present research "Causes of child marriages and its impacts on the maternal health, A case study of jatri village" is a qualitative smdy. The main objectives of the study is to identify the various causative factors of early marriages in the society. Further the study also tries to illuminate the consequences and effects of early marriages on maternal health of young girls. The locale for this study is Jatri village that is located in the province of Punjab. The purpose behind the choice of research site is because of the reason that child marriage is widely practiced in this village. The study shows that there are number of reasons that acted as a driving force for these early marriages including social, financial and religious causes. The study also reveals the consequence of the early marriages. These are poverty, departure from education, physical disadvantages and depression health problem departure from society unstable marital status divorce pregnancy issues etc. Overall Research illustrates that child marriages put negative impact both on the life of young girl but also on the expected child thus creating an unending suffering for the whole household.en_US
