Abstract: The present study has been carried out to record impact of social media on everyday life at khahi town of tehsil Khipro and district Sanghar, Sindh, Pakistan. The study primarily focused on role of social media in shaping world view of the community. Secondly, the study recorded that how physical communication has been hampered by social media. The study has been carried out using anthropological methodology. Qualitative methods have been used with a focus. Two key informants were selected. Thirty five people were interviewed, extended observations were made is the locale, purposive sampling was selected to filter the social media users and non users. Research also illustrates that social media plays with the emotions of the people. Its main side effect is such that it has diverted the minds from professional works. People who are habitual of using social media may involve in hannful side effects such as eye strain, social disconnectedness or absence of sleep. The physical communication is traditional communication in which people take part physically; they undertake responsibility of physically mobilizing for communication purposes. Physical communication involves a communication that takes place at seminars, social gatherings, cultural and social rituals etc. Physical communication is face to face communication while social media communication is done through devices like telephones and Computers. Physical communication is more safe and secure than the one on social media. The study was focused on the active impacts left by social media on politics and religion, which are the main institutions of society. Nowadays, everyone has smart phones a handheld personal computer, but most of the users are spending their time on social media not doing anything significant. The research illustrates the reasons of using social media that it is a source of social connectivity and also used for purpose of the study. Social media is also used as a source of political and religious knowledge and information.
