Abstract: | Increasing dependence on cyber-technologies is the hard reality of 21 st century that has evolved into a complex dimension which is widely known as cyberspace. To be able to understand the emerging concept of cyber-insurgency, this study explores the evolution of internet, the nature of internet architecture, and the dynamics of state‘s control in cyberspace. Further in an effort to explore the possibility of an emergent cyber-insurgency movement in Pakistan this study analyzes different Pakistani hacker groups in the light of lessons deduced from the hacker group ̳Anonymous‘. Finally, cyber threats in the domain of nuclear command and control have also been discussed. |
